Some products are marketed loosely as “mosquito control” devices but are actually:
- UV attractant
- Electric trap
- Sticky trap
They’re designed to attract and kill, not repel.
2️⃣ The Blue Light Is Just Decorative
Some devices use blue LED lighting simply because:
- It looks “high-tech”
- It signals “anti-bug” to customers
- It creates nighttime visibility
But the actual repellent function may come from:
- Ultrasonic sound
- Heat
- Carbon dioxide release
- Chemical vapor
In those cases, the blue light isn’t the repellent — it’s branding.
